GoCrypto
The Cryptocurrency Trading App

The cryptocurrency and blockchain space is booming, with global interest continuing to rise. Platforms like Binance, Coinbase, and eToro are competing to provide better experiences.

As the adoption of cryptocurrencies grows, the need for intuitive and
user-friendly interfaces becomes more critical. However, there are still
areas where crypto platforms can significantly improve the overall user experience, making them more accessible, secure, and efficient for
a broader audience.
UX-research

Conducting the UX research, I analysed the Binance and Coinbase platforms. While both offer strong features like fast deposits, multiple withdrawal options, and crypto conversion, they can be confusing, especially for beginners.

Binance, in particular, is overwhelming due to complex charts and unclear tutorials. Users struggle to distinguish between bank and wallet transfers, risking lost funds, and also face unclear deposit schedules, limited support, and no progress updates during key actions. Trust is a major issue, as users fear making mistakes with little help available.

To solve these issues, I made the interface more flexible, allowing charts to be simplified for beginners and more detailed for professionals. I also implemented an Etherscan integration within the coin interface, enabling users to easily research the trustworthiness of a currency before investing.

User Flow
I conducted the user flow research method to understand how users navigate through the platform, identify pain points in their journey, and find opportunities to make the experience smoother and more intuitive. This method helps map out each step a user takes—from signing up and depositing money to trading, transferring, or withdrawing—so you can see where confusion, drop-offs, or errors occur.

Wireframing

Using the user flow method, I designed the wallet section, coin list, and coin overview screens. It helped me prototype each step and ensure the process was simple and logical for users.

Key Screens Overview

In the wallet section, there is a comprehensive list of all the currencies the user holds, along with detailed
information on price changes over the entire holding period. This allows the user to track the performance of their assets over time easily.

Users have quick access to their Transaction History, a personalised Watchlist (created by the user), and Etherscan
to verify the smart contract details of each currency, ensuring transparency and security.
On the cryptocurrency overview screen, the interface is designed to be informative, intuitive, and easy to read to make sure that users can quickly access essential data. The user can view the current price per token along with the percentage change over the past 24 hours to discover market movement trends. Additionally, key metrics such as low, high, and average prices are displayed to help users better understand the token's volatility over a specified period.
For greater personalisation and convenience, users can add or remove widgets based on their preferences, allowing them to adjust the interface to suit their trading style. This flexibility improves the overall trading experience, making it easier for both beginners and experienced traders to focus on the data
that matters most.

Moreover, users can track price changes over customisable time periods (such as 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, etc.), helping them analyse trends and market patterns effectively. They also have the option to set up indicators such as RSI, MACD, and Bollinger Bands to make more informed trading decisions, improving
their chances of achieving better trading results.

The comparison option provides users with the ability to compare two charts side by side using various features, such as price trends, volume, indicators etc. This allows users to gain a deeper understanding of how different assets behave under similar

market conditions.

Also, users can easily swap or switch the currency displayed on the chart, enabling them to quickly analyse and compare multiple assets without leaving the interface.

There is a built-in Etherscan integration that allows users
to check detailed smart contract data, providing information regarding the asset’s authenticity and security.

Users can review important metrics such as the number
of holders, ensuring that the asset is widely distributed and not concentrated in the hands of a few. They can also access official links to verified sources, such as the project’s website, and social media profiles, helping them validate the legitimacy of the asset.

The function displays the total supply of the token, allowing users to assess whether the asset’s circulating supply aligns with the project’s claims. By offering easy access to this critical information, the interface helps users to analyse the asset’s safety and credibility before making investment decisions. This feature is very useful for identifying potential scams or high-risk tokens, giving users greater confidence and control over their investments.
